If you do, be aware that it may be sending a message to prospective employers, and in many cases it may be a message you don’t intend. While many consider MySpace to be their personal, private space, they often don’t restrict access. The result? While you think its private, the reality is that the information is public. Recently some employers have begun reviewing MySpace information as part of the background check process, and often it is done early in the process, so you might not even know why you didn’t get the interview. Solution? Either restrict access to only your friends, or clean up your profile. Don’t post your digital dirt for all to see, keep it private.
